Measuring 1"x4" in size, these stones have a robust 5mm thickness and come mounted on aluminium blanks that fit perfectly in the KME system. The Naniwa Chosera stones are available in the High Grit Kit, which includes the #2,000, #3,000, #5,000, and #10,000 grit stones.
The #2,000 grit Chosera stone is softer and produces an excellent "good enough" edge on softer steel knives (HRC~55 and below). Combining it with the #800 Chosera stone enhances its effectiveness.
The #3,000 grit Chosera stone is harder and an ideal choice for achieving a working edge on quality knives and preparing the edge for polishing stages.
The #5,000 grit Chosera stone, with its wonderful feedback, creates a mirror finish that takes the edge to a whole new level.
The #10,000 grit Chosera stone further enhances the mirror finish while refining the edge to "shaving sharp" levels.
